BRITANNIA RIO CELTA COURSES CALENDAR AND FEESThe course takes place in our Britannia Ipanema branch, an eartly XXC house in the heart of Ipanema, where all facilities are available, such as computers and big screens in the classrooms and a 15 station full lab, as well as access to virtual further study materials.

see photos in our home page:Course fees 2010-2011:• R$ 3.816,00 (approx U$ 2168,00 and GBP 1245*) payable in up to 5 or 6 times for the part-time course and in 2 or 3 times for the full-time.
• The fee excludes the Cambridge Certification fee of around U$ 180,00, payable on week 2 of the course.
• Full time courses pay an extra R$ 60,00 for use of printing and full broad-band or wireless accessbility.

Next Britannia CELTA dates:2010: 15 March - 16 July 2010- part-time - Mon.Wed: 11.00-13.00 (input) and Fridays 16.00-18.00 or 18.00-20.00 (teaching practice day)
2010: 16 August - 17 December 2010 - part-time - Fridays: 10.30 - 13.30 (input) and 16.00-18.00 or 17.00-19.00 (teaching practice)
2011: January 2011 full-time: 4 weeks beginning on January 5th
ResultsThe Britannia Celta results have been outstanding: our average pass rates between 2000 and Feb 2009 were 98% PASSES with 15% As and 45% Bs. The world wide average of As + Bs is 25%.
How can you apply?If you are 21 years old with a proficient level of English, you may request an application form and a pre-task. You will then be interviewed, personally or by SKYPE (if not resident in Rio) and will soon be advised about your acceptance on the course.

WHAT IS CELTA?It is the Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults awarded by the University of Cambridge ESOL department. It is the best known and most widely recognized initial qualification for teachers of ELT.
Although the course is designed for those with no previous experience, it is also suitable for those who have been teaching but no have formal training or qualification.
It aims at giving candidates a firm foundation in all areas of modern ELT which they can build on through further professional development.
Britannia Celta Course Components- Input sessions on language awareness (analyzing language from the learners´ perspective) and methodology with a strong emphasis on practical teaching skills.
- Teaching practice in groups of 5/6 trainees, with real students (not peer), followed by feedback sessions with the TP group and a tutor. Trainnees also receive a written report on their lesson.
- 4 assignments on practical issues related to the classroom.

- All course are assessed by an external moderator appointed by the University of Cambridge to ensure to quality control.
CELTA assessmentThere is no final examination: assessment is based on continuous evaluation. The main focus is on practical teaching ability but you will also be assessed on your written assignments and professional development which includes punctuality, record-keeping, your relationship with students and
colleagues.
