Brazilian Portuguese Courses for beginners, false beginners and intermediate level students at the Educational Embassy of Languages.

The courses focus on the language you need to communicate effectively on a day-to-day basis integrating the core Brazilian Portuguese language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Using a communicative methodology incorporating state-of-the art technology in the classroom, live media and language labs, the intensive courses are dynamic, varied and provide systematic progress in the use of the language with an emphasis on improving your fluency and building confidence when speaking and socializing.


Course overview and schedule – groups of 6-10 students

Intensive: January/February and July/August: 20 hours a week - 15 classroom + 5 lab hours per week from Monday to Thursday (5 hours a day) from 13:30 - 18:30hs plus 3 bonus Friday morning outings, from 10:00 - 13:00. Every student is given an individual feedback tutorial every 10 days when individual wants and needs are addressed.

Regular: varied calendar, inquire: 6 hours a week – classroom plus lab, three times a week, 2 hours.

The school:
The courses are run in the Britannia Ipanema branch, in a house located in the trendiest Ipanema street, Garcia d´Avila, one block away from the beach. The classrooms are equipped with internet and big screens for presentations and group activities.

Teachers (2-3 teachers per group when intensive) are highly qualified, use internally produced materials of a professional standard, course books and authentic materials in their lessons as well as out-of-class activities on Fridays.

Embassy is the international languages division of Britannia, which has excelled in teaching English for more than 35 years, as well as Spanish and Portuguese for Foreigners for 20 years, providing a friendly and professional environment, enabling students to learn with pleasure and efficiency.

Extra week (16 hs) preceding Carnival: February 8th -11th: U$ 240.00

Regular: 12 weeks: 6 hours a week + lab - Varied calendar, inquire: U$ 386,00 x 3, total U$1.158,00 - excludes materials; depending on the level, value of materials varies between U$ 65,00-U$ 110,00

Individual courses: one-to-one courses on request: price bracket for 3hours per week + lab: U$ 605,00 monthly

• Accommodation: We can assist with host-family or hostel accommodation information, via secure agents, within a variety of price brackets, ranging from U$ 1200 to U$ 1800 for 30 days in January– this is high season, note. In August, the prices should be 25% lower.
